The sites are over sized. Most are on the lake, or have a decent view of the lake. Wildlife was all around. The location was amazingly close to DC but you would never know it. We took our 5th wheel so we used our own facilities for the most part. The bathrooms are pretty rustic, but that only added to the experience for us.
Fond Du Lac Campground is located on the St. Louis River. Turn right into Trumbo Point Annex and then turn left to overflow area. All of these sites are primitive without electric, sewer or water. Guests who have reserved a primitive RV site will be upgraded to a full hookup, if or when available. During peak season October – May , all guests checking in are placed in the primitive area and added to the wait list for rotation to a full hookup.
Generator hours are 7: Potable water, dump-station, bath houses and laundry facilities are located throughout the campground. Same day reservations are booked by calling the site. Full Hook-up 14 days maximum. Dry Hook up varies, please see site. Non-military ID card holders are not eligible for a reservation. Guests will need to be escorted at all times. Foreign Nationals must be cleared by Security prior to arrival and then escorted.
Babcock State Park A beautiful, rugged park bordering the New River Gorge, Babcock State Park offers a unit campground complete with tent or trailer campsites, picnic tables, ground grills and a central bathhouse with toilet facilities, hot showers and coin-operated washers and dryers. Two potable water fill-up stations and two sewage dump stations are available for campers and RV’s.
The campground opens in mid-April and remains open until October 31st weather permitting.

California State Parks Campgrounds Dogs are allowed in California State Parks campgrounds, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet and in a tent or enclosed vehicle at night. Pets are not permitted in park buildings, on trails, or on most beaches. Angeles National Forest Campgrounds Campsites are first come, first served with a maximum day stay at a site, and a total of 30 days stay per year in this Forest.
The Angeles National Forest offer group campgrounds on all three of the ranger districts, some accommodating up to campers. Dogs on a leash are allowed in the campgrounds and on the trails.
